Sound Of The Forgotten Screenplay
CUT TO:
INT. WINDOW 98 COMPUTER START UP
An old 90s computer is open up. The screen is displaying the “Welcome to Window 98” tab. After the Window 98 shrinked, a list of buttons was shown. The user then clicks on OK.
CUT TO:
INT. VCR PLAYER
A VHS tape is inserted into the VCR. The VCR starts to load up the VHS tape, which then it starts to read and display what was recorded in the tape.
CUT TO:
INT. ALLEYWAY - NIGHT [LOUIS’ POV]
A group of 4 friends, consisting Louis, Nathan, Mark, Kevin, is meeting up with each other in an alleyway at night.
Louis - Nah bro, this is trippy bro.
Louis - OH, there they are.
Mark (in the background) - Ohhh, there they are.
Louis - Yo, what’s up, bro?
Kevin - What’s up, bro?
CUT TO:
INT. COMPUTER SCREEN
”On September 16th, 1987. Two siblings were killed”
This information gives the audience first-hand context of what this movie is about, and the potential presence of all the characters.
CUT TO:
INT. ALLEYWAY - NIGHT [LOUIS’ POV]
Mark - Are you guys gonna skip school tomorrow?
Nathan - Ye bro. I gotta work on my jumpshot.
Kevin - Uhh, we meet at the usual court, right?
Louis & Nathan - Yeh
Louis - What time bro?
Nathan - About 6pm.
Louis - Alright
Mark - Yeah, the usual time.
Louis - Alright.
CUT TO:
INT. COMPUTER SCREEN
The VCR experienced a color distorted glitch.
CUT TO:
INT. ALLEYWAY - NIGHT [LOUIS’ POV]
The group has settled themselves near a wall to talk.
Nathan - Yo, so what do you guys want to eat now?
Kevin - I think KFC or something like that.
Nathan - Yeh like, but- [metal slam]
Nathan - -but like, there’s a Lotteria close-
Mark - Wait, wait, wait. You guys hear something?
CUT TO:
INT. COMPUTER SCREEN
”The two victims got shot several times”
This information gives more context to how the two siblings were killed.
CUT TO:
INT. ALLEYWAY - NIGHT [LOUIS’ POV]
Louis - Wait.
Mark - I think I heard something-
Louis - Heard something-
Mark points somewhere to Louis’ left side.
Mark - -something over there.
Nathan (in the background) - What?
Louis - You mean that gate right there?
Mark - Yeah, I’m pretty sure. Let’s go check it out.
CUT TO:
INT. COMPUTER SCREEN
The VCR experienced a black screen error.
CUT TO:
INT. ALLEYWAY GATE - NIGHT [LOUIS’ POV]
The group is checking out what’s behind the gate.
Suddenly, the door gets slammed and a scream erupts.
Nathan - WOAHHHH.
Louis - Woah.
Louis - What’s that? Is-
Mark (in the background) - [inaudible]
Louis - -that a sound?
Nathan - Yeah.
CUT TO:
INT. COMPUTER SCREEN
The VCR again experienced a distorted error.
CUT TO:
INT. ALLEYWAY GATE - NIGHT [LOUIS’ POV]
The group is still wondering what makes the sound.
Nathan - I think we should break in.
Louis - In don’t feel s- safe about this bro. I don’t think we should break in.
Mark - Someone might need help. I think it’s best we -break in.
Louis - Nah, nah, na-
CUT TO:
INT. COMPUTER SCREEN
”However, police can’t specify how many shots were on the bodies”
This information continues to add questions to the murder case, and how it can relate to the presence of the group.
CUT TO:
INT. ALLEYWAY GATE - NIGHT [KEVIN’S POV]
Louis - I’m not going in there bro, cause there’s not gonna be someone behind this gate. It’s kinda like mythic.
Mark - But-
Louis - And i’m not- i’m not feeling safe about this, and I don’t think we should break in. We’re gonna kill ourselves.
Mark - I-I don’t think anyone but a human can make those sounds- [inaudible]
Louis - It could be something falls off the tree.
CUT TO:
INT. COMPUTER SCREEN
The VCR has a different distorted error.
CUT TO:
INT. ALLEYWAY GATE - NIGHT [KEVIN’S POV]
Mark - I think that’s unlikely- I think it’s best we check it out.
Louis - You sure, bro?
Mark - Yeah, I’m sure. We ain’t gonna die bro-
